A series of trips of the President of the Republic Mr. Nicos Anastasiades, as well as important visits of personalities[/B] to Cyprus are included in the President's programme in the coming period.

According to the Director of the Press Office of the President of the Republic, Andreas Joseph, the contacts are part of the President's efforts to further upgrade the Republic of Cyprus in the international political chessboard, highlighting the role of our country in the wider Eastern Mediterranean region and in the framework of the European Union.

Through these meetings, President Anastasiades seeks to inform about Turkey's provocative actions in the region, the efforts our side is making to resume the negotiation process, the Confidence Building Measures it has proposed and more generally about the efforts of the Republic of Cyprus to defend international legitimacy and the initiatives our country is developing in this direction.

President Anastasiades' first stop in the coming period will be Dubai.

On the sidelines of the EXPO 2020 exhibition, the President of the Republic will have a series of contacts and meetings with Emirati officials.

This trip becomes even more important in view of the great potential for further development of cooperation between Cyprus and the UAE in a wide range of areas of common interest.

President Anastasiades is scheduled to visit Saudi Arabia on 1 March. Cyprus and Saudi Arabia look forward to further developing their already close ties, the President of the Republic stressed just a few days ago when he received the Foreign Minister of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Prince Faisal bin Farhan al Saud.



The Republic of Cyprus and Saudi Arabia are strengthening their bilateral relations, especially in the fields of foreign policy, security, trade and investment.

On 10 and 11 March 2022, President Anastasiades will be in Paris for the Informal Summit on Investment and Development.

This is an important Summit, which takes place in the framework of the French Presidency and is expected to discuss issues and take decisions concerning the new European development model.

On 24 and 25 March, President Anastasiades will travel to Brussels to participate in the work of the European Council Summit.

In addition to the President's visits abroad, Cyprus is expected to be visited by important personalities.

Next Monday, 21 February, the Vice-President of the European Commission, Margaritis Schinas, will meet with the President of the Republic. The Cyprus problem and migration will be the main topics of discussion.

This will be followed on 2 March by the visit to Cyprus of the President of Israel, Mr. Isaac Herzog.

The two leaders are expected to review the excellent relationship and cooperation between Cyprus and Israel, both bilaterally and trilaterally.

Furthermore, current regional developments, issues related to the energy sector and the Cyprus problem are expected to be the focus of the two sides' discussions.

On 8 March, Slovenian President Borut Pahor will pay an official visit to Cyprus.

They will discuss bilateral relations, how to further deepen cooperation between the two countries and exchange views on the role that small EU Member States can play in the future of the Union.

The following day, 9 March, the Indian Foreign Minister is scheduled to visit the Presidential Palace.

Cyprus has traditionally enjoyed excellent relations with India, which is confirmed by the frequent exchange of visits at all levels, which is the second largest country in the world in terms of population and an international economic powerhouse.

At the end of March and specifically on 30 March, President Anastasiades will receive the President of the European Central Bank, Mrs. Christine Lagarde, who will pay a visit to Cyprus at the invitation of the Governor of the Central Bank.
