President Anastasiades will participate in the Informal European Council in Paris

The President of the Republic, Nicos Anastasiades, who visited Paris on Wednesday, will participate in the work of the Informal European Council to be held in Versailles today, Thursday and tomorrow, Friday.

According to a Presidency statement, the first day of the Plenary Session will discuss the issues of EU Strategic Autonomy in the areas of Defence, as well as Energy, in the new security environment, given the ongoing war in Ukraine.

This will be followed by a dinner of the European Council members to discuss the general situation in Ukraine.

The second day of work will address the issues of EU competitiveness/strategic autonomy, as well as Investment and the new model of Recovery, with a focus on green and digital recovery.

On the sidelines of the Summit, on the afternoon of 11 March, the leaders will participate in a ceremony to be held on the occasion of the European Day for the Victims of Terrorism.

The President of the Republic will be accompanied in Paris by the Government Spokesman, Marios Pelicanos, the Deputy Minister to the President, Kyriakos Kousios, and officials.
