Under the microscope of the authorities is the material recorded by the closed circuit of the kiosk, where a robbery was committed in the early morning hours, and neighbouring businesses with the aim of identifying the perpetrators.
The armed robbery was committed at a kiosk on the central Eleftherios Venizelos Avenue at around 2.30am by three unknown men wearing black clothes and having their faces covered with hoods.
According to the head of Paphos CID and Paphos police spokesman Michael Nicolaou, one of the three remained at the entrance, apparently to check, while the other two proceeded to the cashier.
According to Mr. Nikolaou, one was holding a pistol or a dummy pistol and the second a knife with which they threatened the store's only employee, a girl from Romania.
The girl , stepped aside, at gunpoint, and one of the perpetrators grabbed 400 euros that were in the cash register while both of them left taking with them a number of packets of cigarettes.[/B] They then fled.
The police are using the CCTV footage of the kiosk and neighbouring businesses in order to identify the perpetrators.
