The Minister of Energy, Commerce and Industry Ms. Natasha Pilidou had a meeting today with the Minister of Commerce of Saudi Arabia Mr. Majid bin Abdullah al-Qassabi, on the sidelines of the President's official visit to Riyadh.

During the meeting, the two Ministers discussed ways of strengthening bilateral cooperation in a wide range of sectors, such as tourism, especially conference tourism and investment in hotels, investment funds, cooperation in financial services, cooperation in the field of education, exchange of know-how in new technologies for renewable energy sources, cooperation in aquaculture, health, etc.The meeting also stressed the need to set specific objectives and priorities in relation to strengthening bilateral cooperation, including through the holding of forums to explore ways of mutual investment in various sectors.[/B]

The discussion was also held on the basis of relevant proposals submitted by the Government of Cyprus in a document[/B] which was prepared with the aim of strengthening bilateral relations and cooperation for mutual engagement in a wide range of sectors between Cyprus and Saudi Arabia.
