Cyprus Public Transport is proceeding with the implementation of the second phase of the new Nicosia route network, the major project it has developed in collaboration with the Ministry of Transport, Communications and Works
According to an announcement by Cyprus Public Transport, from 26 February 2022, the 6th transfer station, that of Strovolos, will be made available to the public, which is expected to further facilitate the movement of passengers.
The first phase of the project, during which Cyprus Public Transport buses started new routes connecting areas of the city that had never been connected before, was launched on 29 January 2022.
As of 26 February 2022, when the remaining routes will be operational, the project will be completed and Cyprus Public Transport hopes that even more people will choose public transport for their journeys around the capital.
As stated in the announcement, the new routes, like any change, will naturally and expectedly go through an adjustment period and Cyprus Public Transport is always close to its public to make this transition as quickly and easily as possible.
In cooperation with the Ministry of Transport, Communications and Works, it monitors the implementation of the project, listens to and examines public input and where possible makes improvements.
"With the completion of the project, Cyprus Public Transport's commitment to the travelling public to continuously improve its services becomes a reality, as the expected benefits for passengers will be many: Reduced waiting time at the bus stop and time spent inside the bus, comfortable and fast travel without stress, increased connectivity and an even wider range of choices in terms of their routes, the number of which has gone from three digits to two digits," it added.
According to the statement, as for the future, Cyprus Public Transport continues to target even bigger projects, always in line with its vision to make public transport a functional and sustainable mobility solution for all, bringing multiple benefits both to the daily life of the travelling public and to the protection of the environment.
