The family believes that "something happened to the children" attributing the deaths either to a gene or even to a medical error What one of the persons who played an important role in raising the three girls says
Like lightning has struck the members of the Daskalakis and Pispirigou families, what has recently seen the light of day regarding the death of the three girls and the investigation of the ELAS and the prosecution authorities in every direction.
One of the persons who played an important role in the upbringing of the children was their great-grandmother, an aunt of their father who adored her grandchildren.
Besides, she was the one who often kept them at home when the parents had some business.
This woman spoke to the newspaper "Peloponnisos" saying that the family believes that "something happened to the children", attributing the deaths in a large percentage to a gene, or even to a medical error.
"These people give a 1% chance that some form of homicide is hidden," the woman told the newspaper "Peloponnisos".
Of course, the "medical error" cannot have happened to all three children, and this is problematic.
As the newspaper "Peloponnisos" reports, some people say that at least one of the children may have been "left" by something like this. In relation to the gene test that did not show anything, the relatives have the answer from a professor at the University of Patras Medical School. If it doesn't show as it does now, it doesn't mean there is nothing!"
What the police are investigating
Meanwhile, the police have already requested the three medical files of the girls' deaths and all the records available from other state authorities on the case.
In addition, they are investigating incidents abroad - such as in Great Britain and the US - that have significant similarities with the case in Patras and were solved by local authorities.
This week, testimonies on the mysterious case are expected to begin. As it has become known, scientists who have been involved in the case will initially be called to testify, and the parents of the children are expected to be called last.
The testimony of the director of the Children's ICU, Andreas Eliades, is expected to be important.
For several days, police have focused on the death of the last child, 9-year-old Georgina, at the Aglaia Kyriakou Children's Hospital in late January, which appears to be related to cardiac arrest, but has peculiar, dramatic similarities with the deaths of her two brothers.
Police authorities say it is now a gamble for them to provide answers in relation to the true causes of the children's deaths and to "completely remove" "indeterminacy" from their file.
The histological and toxicological tests of Georgina are considered crucial to determine not only why she passed away, but also why she had the cardiac arrest a year ago at the Karamandaneio Hospital, which subsequently led her to the Children's ICU of the Rio Hospital.
