The coastguard rescued 100 Afghan citizens from a runaway boat off Paros on Sunday morning.[ACCORDING TO WHAT IS KNOWN SO FAR, THE VESSEL WAS HEADING TO ITALY.
Information reported by the Greek protothema.gr reports that a High Seas Patrol Boat and two other Coast Guard vessels approached the runaway vessel to rescue the refugees.
At the moment they are all on board the PATH and coordination actions are underway so that they will soon be transferred to an East Aegean CIC.
The runaway boat on which the Afghans were rescued was towed to the port of Paros.
