Speaking to the Cyprus Times, the President of the Pancyprian Confederation of Parents of Primary Education, Frixos Zebylas, referred to the test to stay and to problems observed on a daily basis since the beginning of the measure's implementation, as well as to wider issues.

Among other things, there are delays in units, crowding in certain areas and understaffed units, he said. "We have informed those responsible and we have suggestions and proposals to put forward," he said.
"Beyond the issues with the test to stay we have several issues," he noted, explaining that "our concern beyond the protocols, and this is what concerns us as parents, is that the issue that escapes the dialogue is the children themselves and the impact of the whole situation."
Zebylas said that issues are expected to be put on the table at today's meeting which relate to the whole management and how it affects the children both practically and in the quality of education they receive. "We understand that this is a special period with difficulties but we have to find the best possible solution."
As he said, on the one hand the children are missing 2-3 hours of their lessons, while on the other hand the issue of substitute teachers has not been resolved and as a result both educational time and quality educational time is lost. "We have these dimensions to discuss."
The President of the Pancyprian Confederation of Primary Education Parents, commenting on the test to stay, stressed that with a recommendation or decision we cannot change infrastructure, we understand that there are also practical issues. "It is a crisis, we are trying to deal with it, we support the effort, we understand that things are happening fast but we also want to have a communication, we have and should have a role and a voice in some issues," he concluded.
