In the last 24 hours a further 39,923 cases of the new variant were identified, bringing the total number of confirmed cases of Omicron to 210,122.
The agency said that since in fact almost all Covid cases are of Omicron it will stop publishing data specific to the new variant after 31 December.
The suspected cases of the variant that have been identified are over 486,000.
A total of 766 hospitalized patients with coronavirus have been confirmed to be Omicron carriers, with 53 carriers having died.
