Complaints to the authorities about suspicious misleading emails The emails in question bear the logos of the Cyprus Police and the Greek Police
The Police urge citizens to be vigilant as online scams continue.
As stated in a relevant statement, the Police has recently received a number of complaints about suspiciously misleading e-mails sent en masse to the public and falsely pretending to be the Cyprus Police.
The message tells the recipient that he is involved and should be charged with various criminal offences via the Internet (sexual assaults, rape, child pornography, etc.).
The misleading messages are sent from fake email addresses and bear the logos of the Cyprus Police and the Greek Police.
The Police informs the public that the messages are fake and have nothing to do with the Cyprus Police. The public is advised to be particularly careful and not to respond if they receive such a message.
For the purposes of confirming any outstanding issues with the Police, the public is advised to contact the known communication channels available to the Police.
