No one touches "our airspace" says Tatar on closing FIR to Russian planes
No one touches "our airspace", said Ersin Tatar, saying that the "E/C administration" as he called the RS - is neither competent nor responsible for deciding the closure of airspace and for the pseudo-state.
As reported from the occupied territories, the TC leader issued a written statement on the decision of the Republic of Cyprus, following an EU decision, to "close" the airspace to Russian aircraft as one of the sanctions imposed on Russia for the invasion of Ukraine.
Tatar said it was unacceptable for the "Y/C administration" to add the "national airspace" of the pseudo-state to its airspace and publish maps in this regard.
The Greek Cypriot administration, as he called the Republic of Cyprus, "cannot take any action and make decisions on our behalf against our 'sovereign equality, equal status' and the enshrined rights we acquired in 1960 in the territory" of the pseudo-state and in the "national airspace", he argued.
It is futile, he concluded, for the Greek side, which sees itself as the sole owner of the island, to try to take such decisions, to try to deceive the international community and to "lay hands on the sovereign rights of the TRNC", as he called the pseudo-state.
Meanwhile tonight, the T/C website Kipris Postasi published that a plane carrying 156 German tourists arrived at the illegal airport of Tymbou as part of the winter tourism campaign.
The website also posted a video of the arrival of the plane and the tourists. As mentioned, this is the "second stage of winter tourism". By May, it adds, 30,000 tourists are expected to arrive in the occupied territories.
[/P]The name of the airline and how the flight took place is not mentioned in the publication.
