The new cases of the virus in Greece - What EODY announced - The situation with deaths and hospitalized people

The data presented relate to cases from the epidemiological surveillance of the disease caused by the neo coronavirus (COVID19), based on data reported to the EMEA and recorded until 31 January 2022 (15:00).

The new laboratory-confirmed cases of the disease recorded in the last 24 hours are 19,731 , of which 58 were detected following checks at the country's entry gates. The total number of cases is 1,940,723 (daily change +1.0%), of which 49.8% are men. Based on confirmed cases in the last 7 days, 431 are considered to be associated with travel from abroad and 1,856 are associated with an already known case.

The new deaths of patients with COVID-19 are 119, while a total of 23,500 deaths have been recorded since the start of the epidemic.

95.0% had underlying disease and/or age 70 years or older.

The number of hospitalized intubated patients is 576 (60.8% male). Their median age is 66 years. 83.9% have an underlying disease and/or age 70 years or older. Among intubated patients, 452 (78.47%) are unvaccinated or partially vaccinated and 124 (21.53%) are fully vaccinated. Since the beginning of the pandemic, 4,035 patients have been discharged from ICUs.

New admissions of Covid-19 patients to hospitals in the territory are 398 (daily change -18.78%). The seven-day average admission is 433 patients.The median age of cases is 35 years (range 0.2 to 106 years), while the median age of deaths is 78 years (range 0.2 to 106 years).
