The Police intensifies its controls for the implementation of the Law on Infectious Diseases Delivery of illegality Without SafePass and mask citizens Cafeteria, restaurant and bars paid dearly In court nightclub manager
In the midst of the festive season and the increase in positive cases of Covid-19 observed, the Police have intensified their checks for the implementation of the Anti-Diarrheal Law, especially in places where there is a high level of confusion, shopping and nightclubs and establishments.
Specifically, in the last 24 hours, (06:00 am yesterday Friday 24/12/2021 to 6:00 am today, Saturday 25/12/2021) the members of the Police carried out a total of 3,585 checks in various establishments nationwide, in order to ascertain compliance with the provisions of the legislation and the observance of the relevant orders, while 19 complaints were made by citizens and 5 establishments for violation of the measures.
With regard to citizens, out-of-court complaints were lodged:
- 7 citizens, who were in streets/squares and shops without wearing protective masks and
- 12 persons riding vehicles and not wearing protective masks
As regards establishments, out-of-court complaints were lodged:
Limassol District
- Cafeteria, €1,500 fine for not checking customer safepass at the entrance.
- Restaurant, €1,500 fine because the manager did not wear a protective mask, there were no signs at the entrance and there was no customer safepass control.
- Bar, €750 fine because there were overcrowded customers inside the establishment.
Paphos District
- Baraki, €500 fine for not displaying the number of capacity of persons at the entrance, incomplete marking of the floor, failure to check the safepass of customers.
- Nightclub, a file was formed for Court for failing to maintain table spacing, no operating, drink and music licenses.
As Police we urge the public to continue to comply with the provisions of the relevant ordinances. It is the duty of all citizens to demonstrate appropriate discipline and responsibility and to observe personal protection measures.
