The new Nicosia route network has arrived and is moving everywhere! Passengers benefit from reduced waiting time at the bus stop and staying inside the bus, comfortable and fast travel
The long-awaited major project of Cyprus Public Transport, in cooperation with the Ministry of Transport, Communications and Works, the new Nicosia route network, can now be enjoyed by passengers, as the new routes have already been implemented with great success.
From Saturday 29 January 2022, CPT buses have been running in places where there was no access previously and linking more areas of the city together. Now passengers are able to reach their destination comfortably, conveniently and in less time.
[/P]Passengers benefit from reduced waiting time at the bus stop and time spent inside the bus, comfortable and fast travel without stress, increased connectivity and all this with the Cyprus Public Transport travel experience. To achieve this, there are now 6 different hubs. Solomou Square, Makarios Stadium, Strovolos (which will become operational in phase 2), General Hospital, Tamassos Station and Alambra Station are included in the hubs of the new network and thanks to their connection, passengers are facilitated by having more travel options. It should be noted that the route numbers have been changed from three-digit to two-digit.
The new European standard network is, of course, part of the innovative Pame App. Those who choose Cyprus Public Transport for their journeys can also use the Pame App to plan new routes before they start, as well as have real-time access to the arrival time of the bus they are using!
Together with Wi-Fi connection on a 5G network, open on all buses and at the company's stations in Nicosia and Larnaca, the new Nicosia route network is the next step in Cyprus Public Transport's continuous upgrading of its services. The aim is to better serve passengers and to establish public transport in the minds of citizens as a functional and sustainable transport solution.
The new Nicosia route network is being implemented in two phases and the second will follow on 28 February 2022.
