We will meet first with AKEL and then with the other opposition parties for the presidential election, Democratic Party President Nicolas Papadopoulos said on Wednesday on the sidelines of a meeting at the Interior Ministry with Interior Minister Nikos Nouri.
Asked about his contacts with other parties for the 2023 presidential elections, Mr. Papadopoulos said he would begin a series of contacts with opposition parties "to see if we can move forward in our quest for change."
"No date has yet been set for these official contacts, but we will start with the largest opposition party, which is AKEL, and then we will seek to see, in the first stage, EDEK, the Ecologists, and other parties with whom we may be able to conclude some cooperation agreements," the DIKO President concluded.
