A newborn baby girl was found abandoned in -20 degrees Celsius in a Siberian region and Russian officials say she is in good health, the BBC reported.
The newborn was found in a egg packet[/B] by five teenagers walking along a road near the village of Sosnovga outside Novosibirsk last Friday, local media reports said.
The infant was taken to the hospital by the parents of one of the teenagers and doctors said he was in good health.
Police are looking for the mother of the infant and have launched a criminal investigation into attempted homicide involving a minor.
The parents of the teenager, who already have three sons, want to adopt her, but will have to wait for relatives to be found.
According to the teenager's father Dmitry Litvinov, the infant had a blanket and a bottle with him.
It is estimated that she was about three days old when she was found.
[/P][BR]Local media reported that if no relatives are found, the new parents will have to gather a number of documents and hold special seminars before they are allowed to adopt the infant.
