[Cyprus Times] New Year with over 30 thousand new cases in Greece

The new laboratory-confirmed cases of the disease recorded in the last 24 hours are 30.010 , of which 20 were detected following checks at the country's entry gates. The total number of cases is 1,240,862 (daily change +2.5%), of which 50.3% are men.

Based on the confirmed cases of the last 7 days, 226 are considered to be associated with travel from abroad and 1,278 are associated with an already known case.

The new deaths of patients with COVID-19 are 59, while a total of 20,849 deaths have been recorded since the beginning of the epidemic. 95.1% had underlying disease and/or age 70 years or older.

The number of patients hospitalized intubated is 620 (60.2% male). Their median age is 63 years. 80.2% have an underlying disease and/or age 70 years or older. Among intubated patients, 534 (86.13%) are unvaccinated or partially vaccinated and 86 (13.87%) are fully vaccinated. Since the beginning of the pandemic, 3,767 patients have been discharged from ICUs.

New admissions of Covid-19 patients to hospitals in the territory are 442 (daily change +0.68%). The seven-day average admission is 378 patients.The median age of cases is 36 years (range 0.2 to 110 years), while the median age of deaths is 78 years (range 0.2 to 106 years).

Samples tested. The seven-day average is 369,750 sample tests.


Self-tests.

Massive EHRC Sampling: As of 31 December 2021, 123 sampling actions have been carried out by EHRC Mobile Health Teams (MHSTs), of which 41 were conducted.544 Rapid Ag checks and 2,694 positives (6.48%) were detected.
