The new cases of the virus in Greece - What EODY announced - The situation with deaths and hospitalized people

The new laboratory-confirmed cases of the disease recorded in the last 24 hours are 37,676, of which 93 were detected after checks at the country's entry gates. The total number of cases is 1,489,024 (daily change +2.6%), of which 50.0% are men.

Based on the confirmed cases of the last 7 days, 524 are considered to be associated with travel from abroad and 1,814 are associated with an already known case.

Daily evolution of the pandemic: The daily distribution of confirmed cases is as follows (the line represents the overall, cumulative distribution of cases).

New deaths of COVID-19 patients are 65, with a total of 21,328 deaths recorded since the start of the epidemic. 95.1% had underlying disease and/or age 70 years or older.

The number of hospitalized intubated patients is 634 (59.0% male). Their median age is 64 years. 79.8% have an underlying disease and/or age 70 years or older. Among intubated patients, 544 (85.8%) are unvaccinated or partially vaccinated and 90 (14.2%) are fully vaccinated. Since the beginning of the pandemic, 3,820 patients have been discharged from ICUs.

New admissions of Covid-19 patients to hospitals in the territory are 522 (daily change -14.71%). The seven-day average admission is 522 patients.

The median age of cases is 36 years (range 0.2 to 106 years), while the median age of deaths is 78 years (range 0.2 to 106 years).



Geographical distribution
The map shows the geographical distribution of total COVID-19 cases (since the beginning of the epidemic) by Regional Unit of the country, based on the reported permanent residence address of the patient, or temporary residence address for tourists and other temporary residents in Greece. Both cases with a travel history ("imported") and cases with possible domestic transmission are included.
