New NAVTEX violation by Ankara: Oruc Reis returns to Cyprus' EEZ - Ankara raises the "lever" of provocations again in retaliation for the Republic of Cyprus' drilling program

Turkey is again stepping up its provocative actions - following the announcements by the Republic of Cyprus to carry out confirmatory drilling at the "Glafkos" field in Block 10- by sending the Oruc Reis into the Cypriot EEZ.

Specifically, the Antalya Hydrographic Station issued new illegal Navtex, reserving a maritime area between Cyprus and Turkey for seismic surveys by the Oruc Reis until January 22.

Remember that this action by Ankara comes a few 24 hours after it became known through the mouth of Energy Minister Natasha Pilidou, that early next week drilling is expected to begin in the Glafkos prospect, in plot 10 of the Cyprus EEZ, by the Exxon Mobil and Qatar Petroleum consortium, and the recent licensing to the consortium of plot 5.
