An ambush of death was set up by unknown persons, at dawn, on a businessman in Paleo Faliro. The perpetrators, driving a private car, shortly before 4 am, approached the 63-year-old man at the junction of Kronos and Afroditis streets and gassed him. The victim was shot in the abdomen and was transferred in serious condition to the Red Hospital where he is being treated.
Police officers believe that the unknown perpetrators wanted to kill their victim, but are unable to determine the motives of the attack.
At the time of the ambush, traffic in the area was minimal and what they are looking for is through traffic management cameras to trace the route of the suspect vehicle.
At the same time, through information from his environment they are trying to determine whether the businessman, who operates in the construction industry, had fronts and open accounts that would justify such an extreme act or if he was receiving threats.
