The Vice-President of the European Commission, responsible for the promotion of the European way of life, Margaritis Schinas, will pay an official visit to Cyprus from Saturday 19 February to Tuesday 22 February, as announced by the Commission.
The Vice-President of the Commission will visit the Green Line and projects funded by the European Union, and will have private meetings with President Anastasiades and the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Anita Demetriou.
Mr. Schinas will also have a series of meetings with the Ministers of Interior Nikos Nouris, Health Michalis Hadjipandela, Justice and Public Order Stefi Drakou and Education, Youth, Culture and Sports Prodromos Prodromou as well as with other Cypriot politicians.
The contacts will focus on the latest developments regarding migration, external relations, health, education as well as security.
The Vice President will also participate in an interfaith dialogue meeting with religious leaders in Cyprus, and will speak at events held in Cyprus under the umbrella of the Conference on the Future of Europe.
The Vice President will also give a lecture at the University of Cyprus and have a discussion with students, academics and representatives of civil society.
