The geopolitical developments in the Eastern Mediterranean and the Middle East and the situation in the Western Balkans region will be discussed at the 3rd Southern Europe and Eastern Mediterranean Meeting, co-organized by the Delphi Economic Forum, the newspaper "Kathimerini" and the Hellenic American Leadership Council, on March 14 and 15, 2022, which will be attended by the Chairman of the Parliamentary Committee on Foreign and European Affairs, Harris Georgiades, who leaves on Saturday for Washington DC.[/B]
As announced by the Parliament, Mr Georgiades will participate as a speaker in a discussion on the establishment of a cooperation mechanism between the parliaments of Greece, Cyprus, Israel with the participation of the United States ("3+1"), from the perspective of the national parliaments. The same debate will also include as speakers the Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the US Senate Bob Menendez, Member of the Greek Parliament Dora Bakoyannis and Israeli MP Yossi Shain.
According to the House announcement, the forum will discuss, among other things, issues related to the Mediterranean and Middle East region, including geopolitical developments and energy, the approach of the United States to the region, bilateral relations between Greece and the United States as a pillar of stability in the region, as well as the situation in the Western Balkans region.
