The ongoing anti-Russian hysteria in the United States does not allow US officials to see the situation around Ukraine objectively, the Russian embassy in Washington claimed yesterday in an ironic statement.
We paid attention to the statements made by US State Department spokesman Ned Price, expressed on February 16 in an interview with CNN. The official tried once again to accuse Russia of spreading misinformation about the situation in Ukraine, the embassy wrote on its Facebook account.
It is obvious that the gears of anti-Russian hysteria spinning in the United States do not allow American colleagues to see things objectively. Self-hypnosis about the inevitability of Russian aggression continues to be sarcastically reported. It got to the point where on the eve of the interview with Ned Price, CNN, during a live broadcast from Kiev, literally started a countdown to the fake invasion, scheduled by the TV channel for the morning of February 16, the embassy noted.
The embassy urged the US State Department to stop fueling the militaristic anger of journalists and focus on truly important issues of diplomatic settlement of the intra-Ukrainian conflict.
Price said earlier that instead of de-escalating the situation around Ukraine, Russia continues to deploy more troops on the border.
