"We know what we have been going through for so long, a Golgotha in fact, every day we can't forget Artemis, we pray for a phone call, because hope dies last," said the father of the 19-year-old girl who disappeared in Koropi 16 months ago."
Sixteen months after Artemis' mysterious disappearance in Koropi, the thriller continues.
The complex case of the then 19-year-old girl from Koropi is again under the microscope of the show "Light at the Tunnel", with new evidence and testimonies.
Her parents spoke to the show, who still can't believe that their daughter has disappeared. Her father "broke down" talking to the camera of the show.
"We wonder why this would happen to us. We know what we've been going through for so long, a Calvary in fact, every day we can't forget Artemis, we pray for a phone call, because hope dies last. We believe she must be alive somewhere. If she listens to us, at least give us a call. She's a young kid, 21 years old. We also went to Kaminia where they had seen some digging, security did an investigation and these things are still going on."
Artemis' family was sent to this particular rugged area by some people to find her buried there:
"We didn't suspect anything, Artemis was a bit closed as a character. She wouldn't come out. I still insist someone grabbed her off the street. I wish it was the good scenario, that she ran off with a boy. We have requested that the young man Artemis was involved with from Piraeus be investigated as well. From the moment he came into her life, things changed," said Yannis Vassilis, Artemis' father.
The chronicle of the disappearance
19-year-old Artemis disappeared from Koropi at noon on October 16, 2021. She left the house where she lived with her family in Koropi at 14:00, in order to apply for a job at a toy store in Peania.
Shortly before 16:00 her uncle allegedly stated that he saw her waiting at the bus stop while at 17:30 her mobile phone was switched off in Kantza. Since then Artemis has not given any signs of life.
