Health Minister Michael Hadjipandela recommends trusting the judgment of experts on measures against coronavirus He leaves open the possibility of new relaxations What is his response to the criticism of 15-hour tests in dance halls

Trust in the judgment of experts whose recommendations have brought good results in the management of the pandemic, recommended on Friday the Minister of Health, Michael Hadjipandela, when asked by CNA to comment on reactions to the mandatory demonstration of a negative 15-hour rapid test by vaccinated and non-vaccinated persons in dance halls.

"The pandemic is still among us, it is in the community," the minister said in statements to Cypriots after a press conference, in Nicosia, on promoting safety in sports venues.

Asked to comment on reactions to the mandatory demonstration of a negative 15-hour rapid test by vaccinated and unvaccinated people at some dance halls, the minister noted that some very careful relaxations were given.

"It is a way to protect, to prevent the virus from being transmitted," he said. He added that it was a recommendation of the experts, who have brought good results to the country in terms of managing the pandemic.

"The results are very good, they are satisfactory, so we have to trust them once again," he said."

The minister also said that in recent days there seems to be even more reduction in cases. "If this reduction in cases and hospitalizations continues, probably more relaxations will be given in the coming days," he added.

Regarding the issue of categorising establishments according to the risk of coronavirus transmission, when asked about it, he said it is an issue they want to look at very carefully at the Ministry of Health and that they still want some time to work on it so that there will not be any problem.

The issue is expected to be taken to the Cabinet for approval next week, Hajipandela said.
