[Cyprus Times] Ministry of Health announces 5 more deaths due to coronavirus

Update of the total number of patients who died with the final cause of COVID-19 Five more deaths announced

As part of the recording of data by the Health Monitoring Unit, the Ministry of Health has proceeded to update the database it maintains on patient deaths, having recorded and verified all data reported in previous months to the Epidemiological Surveillance Unit.

As part of this audit, it emerges that the total number of patients who died with a terminal cause of COVID-19 up to 4 March 2022 is 869 and not 861, as stated in yesterday's daily statement.

Specifically, this morning the Ministry had announced another three deaths due to coronavirus, which involved:


  • Female, aged 60 years, who died on 13/04/2021
  • Female, aged 87 years, who died on 15/04/2021
  • Female, aged 60 years, who died on 02/12/2021

In a new announcement just now, the Ministry announces five other deaths reported out of time concerning:


  • Male, aged 96, who died on 30/04/2021
  • Female, aged 83, who died on 13/08/2021
  • Female, aged 66, who died on 11/08/2021
  • Female, aged 61, who died on 04/08/2021
  • Male, aged 87, who died on 22/07/2021

Therefore, for today, the Ministry announced a total of eight deaths.

Therefore, as of today's daily announcement, new deaths with COVID-19 as the underlying cause of death will be added to the total number of 873. Of these, 534 are males and 335 are females.

The Ministry of Health updates its databases at regular intervals in order to ensure the correct and comprehensive recording of epidemiological surveillance data. For transparency purposes, the Ministry of Health will inform about any new data recorded.
