The Embassy of the Republic of Cyprus in Kiev is open and is in contact with Cypriot citizens who have remained on the territory of Ukraine. This is according to a diplomatic source quoted by the Cyprus News Agency, noting also that a ministerial committee meeting today is expected to approve the launch of the national Hestia action plan for the organised reception, hosting and repatriation of civilians.
The Republic of Cyprus' Chargé d'Affaires in Kiev Lina Themistocleous has remained at the Embassy, which is open and in contact with Cypriot citizens, she said.
Asked how many Cypriots are in Ukraine, the same source said that through registrations on the online platform www.connect2cy.gov.cy has revealed that there were initially 130 Cypriots in the country.
"It seems that most of them listened to the Foreign Ministry's urging and when there were still transport links they left and returned to Cyprus," she said.
"Those who approach the Embassy now number around 40, although the number changes daily," he added."

The diplomatic source also said that a departure of Cypriot and Greek citizens is expected to take place at some stage, which Greece has undertaken to organise.
