On 28/02 Zelensky had signed Kiev's official request to join the European Union
The leaders of the European Union will discuss Ukraine's request to join the 27-nation bloc[/B] in the coming days, European Council President Charles Michel announced.
"The EU's solidarity, friendship and unprecedented assistance to Ukraine is unwavering. We will discuss Ukraine's membership request in the coming days," he said."
EU leaders are scheduled to discuss the war in Ukraine and the country's bid to join the EU at an informal summit in Paris next Thursday.
It will be recalled that Volodymyr Zelensky had signed Ukraine's application for EU membership on 28 February.
"We call on the European Union to join Ukraine immediately through a new special procedure. We are grateful to our partners who are with us. But our goal is to be together with all Europeans and, most importantly, to be equal," the Ukrainian president said earlier today in his address.
