At the 20th Interparliamentary Conference on the Common Foreign and Security Policy (CFSP) and the Common Security and Defence Policy (CSDP), which will take place on 24 and 25 February 2022 in Paris, will be attended by MPs George Karoullas, George Koukoumas, Zacharias Koulias, Alekos Tryfonidis and Alexandra Attalidou, according to an announcement by the House of Representatives.
The conference will address issues related to the EU's preparation to face future conflicts and crises, the form that the Union's strategic autonomy should take in view of international challenges, as well as EU action in support of Ukraine's sovereignty and territorial integrity.
In addition, there will be an exchange of views with the Vice-President of the European Commission and High Representative of the Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Josep Borel, on priorities in the areas of CFSP and CSDP.
The statement also notes that the delegation of the House of Representatives will participate in the regular meeting of the parliamentary delegations of the EU's Mediterranean countries (GroupMed), during which the geopolitical tensions and upheavals in the Mediterranean region will be discussed.
