Meeting of the Speaker of the House of Representatives with the Board of Directors of the Cyprus Army Officers' Association What the House reports
On Monday, the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Anita Demetriou, held a meeting with a delegation of the Board of Directors of the Cyprus Army Officers' Association.
The meeting was held following the formation of the new board of directors of the above-mentioned association following elections held on December 22, 2021.
According to a statement, in the context of the meeting, the President of the Parliament had the opportunity to be informed about the institutional role of the association, which aims to strengthen the fighting capacity and morale of its staff, about its multifaceted work concerning the provision of assistance to our fellow citizens, as well as about its participation in the relevant European association with actions aimed at enlightenment around the Cyprus issue.
The association requested the assistance of the President of the Parliament for the purpose of more active involvement in the legislative work in order to achieve the principles of transparency and good administration.
For her part, the Speaker of Parliament assured that within her own competencies she would take every possible initiative in relation to the issues raised, while commending the Association for the multi-level work it is doing to enhance cooperation with other countries to address common challenges, while expressing her appreciation for the increasing participation of women, which adds to and contributes to the strengthening of the Army's strength.
