"Common approach to strengthen the protection of the external borders" Minister of Justice and Executive Director of FRONTEX discussed issues of common interest
Issues of common interest concerning the cooperation of Frontex with the competent authorities of Cyprus on border security and the monitoring of illegal migration trends in combination with cross-border crime, were the focus of an informal meeting between the Minister of Justice and Public Order, Stephis Drakos, and Frontex Executive Director, Fabrice Leggeri.
According to a statement by the Ministry of Justice, "through the fruitful exchange of views, the common approach to strengthening the protection of Cyprus' external borders, which are effectively the borders of the European Union, was reaffirmed through the support of Frontex members. Leggeri for the visit and for the overall assistance provided by the European Border and Coast Guard to the EU Member States and in particular to our country, while she expressed confidence that the close cooperation between the two sides will continue in order to effectively address the intense migration challenges.
