Meeting between AKEL General Secretary and Minister of Agriculture What was on the table

Developments concerning the marketing of haloumi, following its registration as a product of Protected Designation of Origin of the European Union, were discussed during a meeting between an AKEL delegation and
A delegation of AKEL, led by the General Secretary of the C.E. Stefanos Stefanou, with the Minister of Agriculture, Rural Development and Environment Kostas Kadis.

Environmental and green development issues relating to the European Green Agreement were also discussed, and the immediate need for more environmentally friendly practices was stressed on the part of AKEL.

In the context of the meeting, agricultural policy issues were discussed, as well as the relevant bills on People's Markets and the trademark, which are pending at the Legal Service of the Republic. On the part of AKEL, it was made clear that the relevant bills are extremely important and will be given priority when they are submitted to the Parliament.

In addition, proposals and suggestions were submitted on all issues concerning the environment and the agricultural sector.

Finally, the General Secretary of the K.E of AKEL assured once again that AKEL will continue to work constructively and will be a supporter of every effort for the benefit of the agricultural world and the environment.

The delegation of AKEL included the MPs Giannakis Gavriel, Chairman of the Agriculture Committee and Nikos Kettiros, Deputy Chairman of the Environment Committee.
