A meeting with members of the Organized Patients Initiative Group for the creation of a Hepatology Clinic in Cyprus was held yesterday by independent candidate for the Presidency of the Republic, Andreas Mavroyiannis.

During the meeting, which took place at the Staff Offices, the main reasons that make the creation of a Hepatology Clinic within the Nicosia General Hospital necessary were highlighted. At the same time, it was stressed that the expertise and scientific knowledge required for a Hepatology Clinic can be drawn and transferred to Cyprus from abroad, mainly from the United Kingdom.

It was also mentioned the necessity for the Hepatology Clinic to be staffed by qualified medical and nursing personnel, in order to increase the quality of patient care, as there is a serious gap in the current period of time.

For Andreas Mavroyiannis, the implementation of this multifaceted project can be achieved within the framework of the OCYPY, through a fruitful dialogue between the state and stakeholders.

The universal provision of health services, which will guarantee equal rights to all patients without exception, is for us a position of principle.
