Russian President Vladimir Putin showed no willingness to end the war with Ukraine during a telephone conversation today with French President Emmanuel Macron and German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, a French presidency official said.
According to him, Macron and Solts reiterated their call for the immediate implementation of a ceasefire in Ukraine as a precondition for full negotiations.
Moreover, Vladimir Putin's accusations of "flagrant violations" of humanitarian law by Ukrainian forces are "lies," Elise countered, following a telephone conversation today between the Russian president and Macron and Solts.
During that hour-and-a-half-long phone call, the French president and the German chancellor also called on Russia to "lift the siege" of Mariupol, where the situation is "humanly unbearable," the French presidency pointed out.
