The consultations for the preparation of the special protocol of the Ministry of Health are in the

final stage, on the basis of which the entertainment centres are required to operate and which will give the green light after a long time for the notorious rocking, i.e. dancing.

The issue of dancing was rated as very important by the owners of entertainment centres, who reported from time to time that without dancing there is no reason for anyone to visit their businesses, with the result that they are even forced to close down.

We understand that as of yesterday, Health Minister Michael Hadjipandela started his meetings with nightclub owners and other officials to hear their suggestions on what they think the special protocol should include.

Common concern is avoiding spread of the virus and any "backlash", with both sides agreeing that relaxations should safely lead us back to normality. There is certainly agreement on the intention to draw up a robust protocol that is simple to implement.

With a 24-hour negative test

Apparently, "locking" entry to nightclubs with a 24-hour negative rapid test and keeping distances between tables.

As for dancing... that will apparently be allowed in clubs that can accommodate 100 people or more.

The Cyprus Times

reports that during yesterday's meeting of the Minister with all the relevant bodies, various suggestions were heard.

Business leaders seem to have defended the position of placing garages outside the centres against free access. In other words, patrons could undergo a rapid test outside the centre and enter the centre without any other restrictions.

However, reports indicate that the Ministry of Health has made it clear that this is not feasible, since, among other things, it provides for the operation of the workshops on a 24-hour basis, which is impossible.

Entertainment centre owners

Satisfied with the Ministry's decision to lift the ban on dancing, Cyprus Times stated in the Cyprus Times, the owners of entertainment centres, who have already forwarded their recommendations to the Minister of Health for the drafting of the special protocol.

"We welcome the decision to welcome dancing again as well as the decision of the Ministry of Health to come into consultation with us and with all those responsible for the preparation of the special protocol to be implemented with the first and foremost consideration of the better safety of citizens."

"We welcome the decision to welcome dancing again as well as the decision of the Ministry of Health to come into consultation with us and with all those responsible for the preparation of the special protocol to be implemented with the first and foremost consideration of the better safety of citizens. said in a statement to the Cyprus Times, the President of the Pancyprian Association of Entertainment Centres, Nikos Vassiliou.

As he reported, during yesterday's meeting of the Pancyprian Association of Entertainment Centres with the Minister of Health, "various opinions and suggestions concerning the safety and health of citizens were heard, for a return slowly to normality and the decision to lift the ban on dancing".

"We have heard suggestions from officials, which we, as an Association, agree with," notes Vassiliou.

Finally, it is worth mentioning that the Minister's consultations with the Pancyprian Association of Entertainment Centres continue as another meeting is expected today, while next Monday will "lock" the final decisions.
