A project of pan-Cypriot scope that will not only become an attraction for residents of other regions but will also create many jobs, spoke Fotini Tsiridou in her statements on the implementation plan for the development of the port and marina of Larnaca.

As the MP said, for DISY, the development of the port and marina of Larnaca, a 1.2 billion project, is, among other things, a top priority within the framework of its national strategy.

Mrs Tsiridou noted that the first topic of discussion at the Transport Committee was the need to upgrade and carry out improvement works on the Kanto - Omodos road, which is one of the very important roads we have in Limassol, since it leads to all the wine villages of the city.

"In addition, the public works department said that they are also starting improvement works on the surrounding roads, with the addition of sidewalks, adequate lighting and the creation of two more bays within 2022 to allow trucks to exit. It was strongly pointed out that in order for these improvements to be made and accidents to be reduced, drivers need to obey the traffic code and not speeding which is most often fatal. The debate was catalysed by the Director of the Ministry of Transport who, among others, assured that solutions would be found as soon as possible. The matter will be brought back to the committee to present proposals for the implementation of the project," he stressed.
