Foreign Minister Ioannis Kasoulides will travel to Brest, France, on Thursday, where he will participate in the informal meeting of EU Foreign Ministers (Gymnich).
A press release from the Foreign Ministry said that the Gymnich will begin with a joint working lunch of the Foreign and Defence Ministers, during which the processes of shaping the EU's Strategic Compass for Security and Defence will be discussed.[THE FOREIGN MINISTERS WILL THEN EXCHANGE VIEWS ON THE CURRENT SECURITY SITUATION IN EASTERN EUROPE AND THE CHALLENGES THE EU HAS TO DEAL WITH IN THE EASTERN NEIGHBOURHOOD.
On Friday morning, the Foreign Ministers will discuss EU-China relations. At the end of the Gymnich, the French Presidency of the Council of the EU will host a working lunch to discuss the EU-Africa meeting to be held in February.
The Foreign Minister returns to Cyprus on Saturday.
