A clear message was sent by Speaker of the US House of Representatives Nancy Pelosi, on the importance of a rules-based, human rights and democracy-based multilateral approach in her meeting on Tuesday with Foreign Minister Ioannis Kasoulides as part of the Secretary of State's working visit to the United States.
In a post on Twitter, Foreign Minister Ioannis Kasoulides said he felt "privileged" for their meeting. He said he thanked Pelosi "for her clear message on the importance of rules-based multilateralism and her strong focus on democracy and human rights."
He added that "full respect for these values is crucial for Cyprus in its quest for regional peace and stability."
