Concerns have been raised over incidents of violence in schools recently with teachers calling for security guards to monitor entrances.

This time an incident of assault on a student unfolded at a Paphos high school when a juvenile broke into a school and assaulted, insulted and punched a student in the face.

From the attack the student was seriously injured in the eye and was taken to the hospital. His parents reported the incident to the authorities who are investigating the incident.

It is recalled that the issue of surveillance of entrances, as well as the security of schools was raised again by OELMEK with its Vice President Themis Polyvios calling for increased security measures, denouncing incidents of violence against teachers by parents.
