Diplomatic efforts to resolve the Ukrainian issue continue After a phone call with the French President, foreign embassies are being emptied
The crucial phone call between US President Joe Biden and his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin lasted for an hour.
The two leaders' discussion focused on the Ukrainian issue, at a time when Washington is warning of a Russian invasion in the coming days and Moscow is responding that this is American propaganda.
So far, neither side has leaked what exactly the two leaders discussed. The two leaders telephoned at 11:04 (US time) and concluded their conversation at 12:06 (US time).
[/P]Earlier, the Russian president had a telephone conversation with French President Emmanuel Macron. The duration of the crucial phone call lasted 90 minutes. According to reports from Elise, the French president told Vladimir Putin that a "sincere dialogue is not compatible with a (military) escalation" on the Ukrainian border. Sources in Paris, however, stress that there was no suggestion that the Russian president was planning to invade Ukraine.
Macron and Putin "both expressed the will to continue the dialogue" through "channels in order to promote the implementation of the Minsk agreements" on the Donbass and on "conditions of security and stability in Europe," the French presidency added.
At the same time, one country after another announces the removal of its staff from the embassies operating in Kiev.
