An explanation for what was said on the phone with US President Joe Biden was given by Jared Schmeck, the father of four children from Oregon who insulted... in code to the president.
It all happened during the customary phone calls to random people in the US that the president makes on Christmas Eve to wish happy birthday.
The conversation with "Jared"
After talking briefly with the children, asking them what gifts they wanted and then urging them to go to bed early, Mr. Biden exchanged a few words with the father, stressing that they both have sons named Hunter.
Concluding the conversation, the US president wished his interlocutor a "Merry Christmas". The latter replied "I wish you a happy, merry Christmas too" before closing with the phrase "Let's go Brandon."
"'Let's go Brandon,' agreed," Biden responded, without reacting to this coded phrase, which actually means "Fuck you Biden".
It was a joke
"It was a joke," Jared Schmeck said, and he said he has no regrets about what he did, he is not a Donald Trump supporter, but he says he is disappointed in Biden's policies and added that he feels he is now being threatened and his right to express himself freely.
"At the end of the day, I have nothing against Mr. Biden, but I'm disappointed because I think he can do a better job," the father of four said.
"I have no regrets," says the American anti-vaccine activist who berated US President Biden on air."
