An explosive object of high power, placed in the front of the jewellery shop, was responsible for the explosion that occurred shortly before 2 a.m. and "lifted" central areas of Limassol.

The explosion caused extensive damage to the glass showcase as well as to the interior of the store, which is located in the Petrou and Pavlou area.

The explosion also damaged two vehicles parked at the site.

At first light, members of the Limassol CID and a bomb squad visited the scene to conduct tests and collect evidence that may lead to the perpetrator(s) and of course the motive behind the criminal act, while taking statements.

It should be noted that this is not the first time the 41-year-old woman has been targeted by criminal elements. Previously, arsonists targeted her car.
