Three arrests for burglary and theft in Paphos and Limassol Information about the sale of a stolen car led to arrests Another arrest for a drug case- All information is being investigated by the Police

Three persons, aged 29, 26 and 41, were arrested yesterday by police in Limassol during a coordinated operation in relation to investigated cases of burglary and theft. As part of the operation another person, aged 22, was arrested in connection with an investigated case of illegal possession and use of drugs.

Specifically, following information received by the police yesterday that a stolen vehicle would be sold at a certain place in Limassol, members of the police placed the area under discreet surveillance. Around 7pm yesterday, a double cab vehicle was seen entering the area, followed by a second car.

Members of the Police intercepted the two vehicles and after checking they found that the double cab had been stolen from a machine shop in Paphos, between the dates of 8 and 12 February 2022.[/B] The 29-year-old man was arrested for an automatic offence and was taken into custody to facilitate interrogations.

There were three persons in the second vehicle. Both the vehicle and its occupants were searched without finding anything objectionable against them in connection with this case. However, a small quantity of cannabis was located and seized in the possession of one of the occupants of the vehicle, aged 22. As a result the 22 year old was arrested for a first offence. He was handed over to members of the CID for further investigation of the case.

Continuing investigations into the stolen vehicle secured evidence against a 26-year-old Limassol resident. Following an operation by the Limassol CID, at around 8.30pm, 8.30pm, the 26-year-old woman was spotted getting into a vehicle moving on a Limassol road, together with a 41-year-old Limassol resident.

The vehicle was intercepted by police members for checking. From the search various items were found inside the vehicle which appear to be the products of theft. Among these items, bank cards and other documents issued in the name of a 31-year-old Limassol resident were found.

The 31-year-old woman had a few hours earlier gone to the Limassol CID, where she complained that between 6pm.Between 6.6 p.m. and 7.15 p.m. yesterday, unknown persons broke into her home and stole various items such as a mobile phone, a watch, two handbags and the sum of €545.

In the possession of the 41-year-old man, a passenger of the 26-year-old woman, several credit cards which had been reported to the police as stolen were found after a search. Some of them were allegedly issued in the name of the director of the company that owns the double cab vehicle, which was stolen in Paphos.

Both the 26-year-old woman and the 41-year-old man were arrested for self-inflicted offences and were taken into custody to facilitate interrogations.

Limassol CID and Paphos CID are continuing their investigations.
