The onslaught of bad weather "Elpis" from Greece affected the flight schedule of Cyprus. In particular, a total of sixteen flights to and from Cyprus and Athens were affected.
Today, two more flights were cancelled due to the severe weather affecting the Greek capital. According to information[/B] Cyprus Times from Hermes Airports, "two more flights were cancelled today, which were due to take place as part of the rescheduling that the airlines are doing. These were one departure and one arrival on the Larnaca-Athens route and the corresponding route. In these cases 109 passengers were affected[/B]."
As reported the situation seems to be normalising due to the gradual improvement of the weather conditions and from now on no further variation in the flight schedule is expected.
It is recalled that during yesterday a total of 10 flights were affected, eight to and from Larnaca Airport and two to and from Paphos Airport, with a total of 448 passengers affected.
So after seven thirty in the afternoon yesterday the weather allowed flights to Athens and so four flights to and from Larnaca were made.
On Monday, the first day affecting our island's flight schedule, four flights were cancelled, two arrivals from Athens - Larnaca and two departures Larnaca - Athens, which affected 228 passengers.
