Horror in France 52-year-old confessed to killing and dismembering his roommate after a fight He was charged with manslaughter
Three days after a decapitated and dismembered body was found on the side of a road in southwestern France, the victim's roommate confessed to the crime and was charged with manslaughter.
Montoban's deputy prosecutor, Anne Gollier, said that the investigations carried out had identified and arrested the suspect, who lived with the victim a few hundred metres from where the body was found.
The arrested man confessed that on Thursday night into Friday he killed his friend by kicking and beating him with a knife and then dismembered the body to hide it. They had previously consumed alcohol and had a heated argument.
The 52-year-old suspect is from Reunion Island, in the Indian Ocean, and had previously been convicted in French courts for indecent exposure and death threats.
On Friday afternoon, two people out for a walk spotted the body on the side of the road. The victim's head was found the next day, in a plastic bag, about 100 metres away.
The victim, aged 31, was also known to police authorities for theft and other offences.
