Horror at TikTok In child pornography, content managers exposed to pornography, rape and beheadings Content coordinator sees horrific videos every day that make her wonder how many sick minds are out there
The revelations that have come to light about the content managed by TikTok are appalling.
Content coordinator[/B], Candy Frazier, sees horrific videos every day that make her wonder how many sick minds are out there.
She has filed a lawsuit against the popular platform and its parent company, ByteDance, stating that both she and other colleagues are forced to watch videos with content that goes beyond the bounds of reason.
Specifically, employees appear to be exposed to videos of child pornography, rape, beheading and animal mutilation.
Shootings, suicides, falls from buildings
Frazier, Bloomberg reports, has also seen videos that include cannibalism, smashed heads, school shootings, suicides and even fatal falls from buildings.
"There's no escaping it. TikTok requires content managers to work at a frantic pace, watching hundreds of videos per 12-hour shift, with only a break for lunch and two 15-minute breaks," the administrator claims.
Her lawyers say that, "due to the sheer volume of content, content managers are not allowed to spend more than 25 seconds per video and must watch three to ten videos at a time."
Frazier, who lives in Las Vegas, says she suffers from post-traumatic stress disorder as a result of all the disturbing videos she has had to watch and is asking that she be compensated for psychological damages and that the company set up a medical care fund for administrators.
"The plaintiff has difficulty sleeping and when she does sleep, she has horrible nightmares," according to the lawsuit.
