The Legal Service ruled the sentence imposed by the Limassol District Court in a case of assisting the transit[/B] of irregular migrants to free areas insufficient.

More specifically, it was registered today, on instructions of the Prosecutor General of the Republic Mr. George Savvidis, an appeal was lodged with the Supreme Court against a person who admitted that on two separate occasions, for a fee, he assisted the passage of illegal immigrants from the occupied to the free areas of the Republic.

The accused was sentenced by the Limassol District Court to 12 months imprisonment[/B],[/B] which the Legal Service considers insufficient.
