The revelations about the martyrdom moments that 7-year-old Andreas lived in Kypseli at the hands of his own mother and her Polish partner, who have been in prison since yesterday.
"I covered his mouth with a little duct tape to calm him down because he was naughty. I didn't want to kill him," the 33-year-old man claimed with sheer audacity and cynicism.
The 33-year-old man did not even stop to state that he cared for the child he killed with his own hands and said he was buying him toys.
"I thought it was a day like any other"
For her part, the 29-year-old mother, a modern-day "Medea", who was present at the time of the crime in the attic hellhole on Skiathou Street in Kypseli, claimed in her apology that she did not understand that her son was fighting for his life, bound and gagged.
"I thought it was a day like any other. That she was once again trying to calm him down because he was being naughty. I didn't understand that the child was dead," the 29-year-old mother claimed with a rare cruelty.
What is appalling is the fact that she did nothing to help her child and continued unperturbed to play computer games while the 7-year-old was dying. Accepting responsibility and without any trace of self-criticism, she said that despite the fact that the 33-year-old abused the child and left him fasting for days, she went and secretly fed him.
"The child was punished from the morning standing up, without food from the day before, staring at the wall. Suddenly I heard a thud and saw the morning lying on the floor, dead. He was letting it starve, but I secretly went and fed it. I was sitting with him because I didn't want to go back home because my mother was an alcoholic," the 29-year-old woman said.
Little Andreas' fingers were injured, possibly by pliers
At the same time, new revelations about the torture suffered by the 7-year-old are coming to light. According to reports, it is said that the case file states that little Andreas' fingers were injured, possibly by pliers or another tool.
This comes to explain what the 33-year-old claims, namely why the 7-year-old did not remove the paper tape this time. If this information is valid, perhaps the child's fingers were unable to pull the paper tape and thus he died.
It seems that the child, in his very short life, had a torturous time, as he was left hungry and without water on a daily basis.
