Arrest of 34-year-old man for possession and distribution of child pornography

After evaluating information received from EUROPOL, that a particular user of an account on a social networking platform uploaded files containing child sexual abuse material[/B] to the internet, members of the Cybercrime Branch proceeded to arrest a person aged 34 years old.

This morning, members of the Cybercrime Branch and the Forensic Electronic Data Laboratory conducted a search under a court warrant at the home of a 34-year-old man in Limassol, where two mobile phones were found and taken for further scientific examinations.

Subsequently, the 34-year-old was arrested under a court warrant and taken into custody, while interrogated he allegedly admitted to the commission of the offences.

The Cybercrime Branch is continuing its investigations.
