A 31-year-old man was detained for illegal stay in the territory of the Republic.
According to Pafos Assistant Police Director Michael Ioannou, at 10:30 on Wednesday morning members of the Aliens and Immigration Service arrested a 31-year-old person, aged 31, on the premises of the Pafos District Court for the offence of illegal stay in the territory of the Republic.
According to police records, the 31-year-old allegedly arrived in the Republic on February 12, 2021 via Larnaca airport, and was granted a student permit to attend college in Nicosia until July 31, 2021.
Since then, the 31-year-old allegedly failed to renew his residence and study permit and was residing illegally in the territory of the Republic.
The above was taken into custody at the Paphos Central Police Station detention centre. Procedures for his deportation were also initiated.
